Instead of the power pop of these bands, Myrick was looking for grittier turf even as he knocked out several catchy songs/5(16).

  7. First time on CD for this album from the singer, songwriter and guitarist including four live bonus tracks. Gary Myrick moved from Texas to Los Angeles and formed the band the Figures. Not exactly New Wave, Power Pop or Post Punk, Myrick's unique style fitted into all categories comfortably without compromising his unique talents/5(4).

The follow-up, Living in a Movie, was released in , but after the supporting North American tour, Myrick decided to disband the Figures in pursuit of a different approach.
